site contributions...

Hi Don,

Maybe I've gone completely daffy, but I thought at one time there was a link somewhere here where forum members could make a financial contribution to help with maintaining the website?

Or was that just back when the new camera was being formulated?

Thanks,

Skip

The donation page you remember was for the WeirsCAM fundraiser.

Click here for a page with various ways you can help support the site including a link to the donations form.

Thanks for asking!

Don

Thanks Skip for trying to help out. I've already received several donations and a few nastygrams from people who are unhappy with me and didn't agree with your positive comments. It's OK, I get those almost every day anyway.

I did notice that a shipping charge was mistakenly added to the donations. I've fixed that but if anyone didn't want to make that additional donation please let me know and I'll gladly refund the shipping charge. Sorry about that.

Nah, don't worry about it..consider it a "tip" (or have half of a pina colada on me).

By the way, have a safe and enjoyable vacation, we're keeping some cold air up here on tap for your return so you don't miss any of the little bit O' winter that Mother Nature is going to be dishing out! :)

Thanks for the idea Skip.

Don - thanks for all you do, delete the nastygrams and know that the vast majority of us are so grateful for all you have and continue to provide to us! Have a great vacation - just don't forget to get back on board at each of those ports.

(and thanks for adding credit cards)

Amazon ??

Hmmmmmmm .......... been on this site now for just under a year or so and NEVER new about the 5% commission you'd earn to the site for purchases at Amazon (and others) that we're linked through here. I feel terrible as I just (2 weeks ago) ordered over $200 worth of product from Amazon. I think you should (and perhaps this post will help) make it more blatent that the site wins -- and the consumer loses nothing by linking through here. Surely there are a LOT of people utilizing this site that use Amazon and others routinely.

Kudo's to A site & forum well run and managed !

Probably a question for Don...

Does this Link http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/subst/home/home.html
still work for a donation to Winnie.com?

I'm doing some shopping and if buying from Amazon means a donation.. why not click thru that link and help this site!

webmaster 12-10-2009 02:57 PM

Use this link to enter Amazon and the site will get a commission for everything you order. It does not cost you anything extra to do this:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re...home/home.html

The "Support this Site" page referred to earlier in this thread hasn't been updated in a long time. I'm not sure how many of those links work anymore. I'm still an Amazon affiliate and the link above should work fine.

Thanks for supporting us!

Don

ps The Donate link is now in the blue bar at the top of this page :-)

I agree, I had forgotten that link. I've now "bookmarked" it. I buy from Amazon often.

They usually have the best prices on electronics and books.

Credit card donations accepted

You don't have to have a PayPal account to donate to the site. Just click on donate, select the amount, and you can opt to do a one time donation through any major credit card. I was concerned that I couldn't contribute because I didn't want to sign up for a PayPal account, I didn't have to!

Considering the agida I have caused over the years, I figured I owed something.

I changed mine as well. I shop Amazon frequently and wish that I had known
this last week. <sigh>

Although I'm a newbie, I love this site.

How do we know Amazon is giving the website money?

Don -

I've been using the link for the past month and made some substantial Christmas purchases. How do you know that Amazon gives you the right amount of money or we, as users, know Amazon is donating the money to the website?

Thanks.
