Isn't that Millard Fillmore in that Coe House cupola, up there?

Presidential-Center Harbor, cupola factoid; re the first photo; on August 3, 1852, President Millard Fillmore remained high up in the Coe House cupola watching the Harvard-Yale crew rowing race on Center Harbor Bay to avoid interrupting the race with his presence down at the dock.

Honest, no fool'n ..... a Center Harbor 1852, long time ago, legend!

Lavinia's Copola

Thanks! Nice set of photographs. Here is a panorama photo from inside the cupola, when Lavinia's owned it. https://maps.app.goo.gl/E3accWj4UpjQrKFC8

Thank you for the link. I know a couple who dined in the cupola. I've never been there. It looks amazing!

Thank you for the fun fact. I'll take your word for it because I'm more familiar with the comic strip Mallard Fillmore than the president!

Hope Gustos will be serving up there it’s a romantic dining experience
FYI…when we restored the building back in 2000, we ran ductwork to the cupola so it is air conditioned. When we operated the Coe House it was booked months in advance

Tight squeeze

Years ago we celebrated an anniversary in the cupola. It was a once in a lifetime experience. We are small people and it was a tight squeeze. Also difficult for servers. Not for the claustrophobic.

But we are glad we did it…once in a lifetime.

As a surprise for my wife on an anniversary I reserved the Cupola and had a custom menu prepared. It was a home run.

Newbiesaukee is right. It is tight up there. Only room for a relatively small table and two chairs. As I recall you go up a set of stairs from the second floor to an attic on the third floor and then up another set of steep stairs to the Cupola. Our server was on the UNH track team and even he said it was a work out.
