Surface crack in bathroom sink
I discovered a surface crack in our bathroom sink, not leaking (yet), but I wonder if there is a surface-applied product that will seal the crack before it gets any worse. The sink is "white", so a clear product would probably work the best. Thanks in advance.

Might be a good idea to start looking at replacement sink. And while at it. Replacement faucet.
Is there some kind of Crazy Glue that will hold the sink together? Doubt it. |
A picture would help.
Liquid silicone is a product I have used. If you go into this knowing that a new sink is likely to be required soon then you have little to lose. |
I assume you're talking about a ceramic type sink, maybe porcelain?
I'm pretty sure you can get ceramic crack repair kits at most hardware stores. I think they're basically an epoxy application. Make sure it's really on the surface only and monitor it to see if it propagates. Did it happen from an impact? |
Cause? Prevention?
Any idea what caused the crack? Could it happen again whether you repair or replace?
I had an old "green" bathroom once and a company came in and spray coated all the fixtures. Looked brand new. I don't recall cost, but cheaper than a plumber replacing everything. |
