Commune a tea
 

Just happen to bounce through as a lurker after an extended mic drop. Saw the last thread I started sure brought forward a lot of conversation. Thought I’d share that there is a great new tea shop in Laconia. It’s ideal for conversation. No they don’t sell my vodka so please don’t attack me for advertising. I have no connection whatsoever other than being a very satisfied patron.

The name of the shop is COMMUNE A TEA. It is in downtown Laconia across the street from the Village Bakery. The bakery by the way is going through an expansion. We can all look forward to their soon to be, table service, offering.

In my opinion, if anything is going to be a big success, it can't be started in " DOWNTOWN LACONIA ". I feel people do not travel to downtown Laconia unless they have to. A tea room will not draw a large enough audience to make a living at. Laconia has changed, but not changed for the better. IMHO. I wish them well and great LUCK, but I'm also a Realist.

On that subject, my wife and I enjoy having "high tea" at tea houses; we're enjoyed it at various places out west, including the ultimate: The Empress in Vicoria, BC.

My question: where is the closest tea room to the big lake, and are there more than one seriving high tea within a comfortable driving distance from the lake?

I've been there twice and will go back again. It is good place to relax for an hour, with comfortable tables and couches. Many teas, and you can blend your own drink. Interesting soups and crepes.

Sadly I have to agree with you. I've been wanting to try Trillium restaurant in Laconia but we're just never there in the evenings -- and only rarely during the day (to go to the antiques mall on a rainy day).
