Neon signs...

The Safeway store in San Francisco is about to remove the last large commercial neon sign left in the city.

I was trying to think of neon signs in The Lakes Region and came up with no memory of any.

There must be some remaining and probably some new?

I thought Chaos & Kindness had one, but I may be mistaken.

It may be a combination, with the letters neon and the arrow, bulbs?

I wonder how old that sign is?

Everything you ever wanted to know about the Weirs Beach sign:

The 'Weirs' in the sign has gone dark while the 'Beach' is still lighted so it needs repair.

It is probably a 'light emitting diodes' and not a neon sign.

Thanks for the link.
If not unique, certainly unusual: In how many cities does the Fire Department roll out a truck to water the flowers at the base of such a sign? I remember watching them do this on my early am ride to work.

Warren's Lobster House on Route 1 just after you crossed into Kittery from Badger Island had a neon sign that was so similar that I have to wonder if it was built by the same designer/installer as the Weirs sign. Unfortunately Warrens was listed for sale last fall and that piece of history may soon disappear.

Every day, all-weather ..... http://www.winnisquammarine.com/webc...ine-live-feed/ ..... this Weirs Beach sign is a happening sign!

If this Weirs Beach sign looks brighter today than yesterday, that's because it just got serviced by the city with some replacement lighting parts.

Yes, it is brighter and working better, today.
