They did this on Weekends in the 1960s in Alton Bay and they did a torch light ski parade on July 4th before the fireworks. Back then they had a wood ski jump floating in the bay.

Part of our family lore involves my now deceased uncle, as a young man, racing his little wooden racing boat with Merc engine at Alton Bay in an organized race.

Apparently he flipped the boat or something happened which led to his wallet and all his cash sinking to the bottom of the bay.
