Laconia man in tent crushed by falling tree

Early morning sometime unknown, Friday, October 31, 2025, Laconia Bypass forest area close to Belmont somewhere out there in the woods:

http://www.wmur.com/article/person-s...shire/69215246 ...... unknown age and name

Definition of "widow maker" ..... North American English ..... a dead branch caught precariously high in a tree which may fall on a person below.

Did the big wind bring down a big tree on top of him, or what?

Ouch, talk about a serious headache!

Excedrin headache number: your last and final headache! ...........holy smokes!

If you ever trimmed a pine and an oak tree with a hand saw then you know the oak is about twenty times sturdier than pine. Pine tree will break in the wind in a fast snap.

Its pretty sad that a guy so down on his luck that he has to live in a tarp-tent in the town forest gets wiped out by a freak accident like this...

Well, rich or poor, you is better off rich!

Maybe half of the Winnipesaukee waterfront homes are all vacant for six months, winter, and their owners tough it out down in sunny Florida?

Is this ...... www.facebook.com/Timothy.pillsbury.9/ , age-47 from Island Pond, Vermont ........ the man in Laconia hit and killed by a falling pine tree?

"Devastated" from March 14, 2014 seems like a telling comment.

What are the chances of this happening, seems miniscule when compared to riding a motorcycle or something really dangerous?

What is even more sad is that FLL feels the need post about and poke fun at the death of this guy on the forum.

The article states that the police are looking into ownership of the woods, and that "No trespassing" signs were evident.

Why would it matter?

Might their possibly be potential landowner liability in this instance?
