Gas Prices On The Lake
I have found that Lakeport Landing Marina tends to have the lowest prices on the lake, sometimes as much as $0.20 a gallon less than anywhere else. At least that's been the case over the past five years.

Gas for the boat
Why not just buy gas off the lake, and feul up at the dock?
Or is this illegal:confused: |
JMBBop:
A lot of boats on the lake have large tanks. My boat for instance is only 22' 6" and it has a 100 gallon tank. That would be a lot of hauling! By the way, can someone out there tell me what the average prices on the water are running? Thanks |
Like Secondcurve said many boats have 100+ gallon tanks. I don't think it's illegal but many marinas have rules against fueling at their docks. What we need to do is pitch in and buy a long hose for the Texaco station across the street from Waldo Peppers. They back right up to the channel.

$3.15 per gallon at Irwin's last weekend.

NH not bad
I just put 100 gal. in my boat in Florida @ $4.10. The best price around for marina gas is $3.69.
Cann't wait to get there and pay NH prices. |
Day tripping.
If my friends sell their place, I'll be a day tripper. Between my tow vehicle and what I burn cruising my little boat, I'm estimating $100+ for a day trip to the lake. The silver lining is that it will probably be a little quieter than in some years past.
I have extra cans and can just swap them out. This should avoid running afoul of any safety rules at the launch point. I'm beginning to be pleased that I only have a little run-about. You hundred -gallon- folks have my sympathies. |
With a Meredith Village Savings Bank 'Generations Card' you get a three percent discount at the Irving station directly across from the Meredith town docks.
Anyone have any info about using gasoline that contains ethanol in outboard motors. I've read that it can partially disolve the insides of fuel tanks made out of fiberglass and then clog up fuel injectors or carburetors and fuel filters. If the fuel tank is made out of aluminum or good quality plastic then it's not a problem. I use a Yamaha six gallon portable plastic tank so I hope it's not going to be effected. Also, I wonder how using a water separating fuel filter would help to protect from the effects of ethanol gas? |
Gasoline Prices
Here's a website I've been using for a nuber of years to check gasoline prices around the country.
gasbuddy.com |

http://my.boatus.com/forum/forum_pos...TID=56486&PN=1 There's a lot of information on that site and boatered.com about it. Seems like fiberglass gas tanks may be the biggest issue. There's also a lot of worry about water mixing with the ethanol and seperating it from the fuel. In addition to the obvious problem of water in the fuel, taking out the ethanol will reduce the octane. Finally, ethanol may cause trouble with old rubber fuel lines. It remains to be seen how bad these possible problems really turn out. |
Great site posted by Drummerboy but does anyone have any first hand experience with it's accuracy? There's a station near me that has read $2.43 on the site for three days now. Don't need gas yet but when I do I'm going to swing by and check it out for myself.

Just found out the Discover Card is offering a 5% rebate on gas purchases, up to one thousand dollars gross, made in May & June. So, filling up my six gallon tank at the Meredith Town docks Irving now cost (6 x 2.849) - ((x3%)+(x5%)) unless the 5% is figured after the 3% gets subtracted and then it's a bigger discount, Nah, that'll nevuh happun!

Gas Prices the weekend of May 6 & 7
Lakeport 3.089 :)
Irwin Marine 3.299 ;) 19 Mile 3.599 ( So I was told never actually saw the price there) :look: |
Excuse me for repeating myself here but that 5% Discover Card gasoline rebate for the months of May and June are a very good deal. Plus you can get another three perent off at the Irving gas across from the Meredith town docks with a MVSB Rewards Card. The Discover Card rebate is good for gas purchases anywhere in the United States. Maybe the NH Marine Patrol could use a gasoline discount what with all their V6 two-stroke outboards, or the NH State Police for their new Dodge Charger cruisers. And yes, they have a hemi!

$3.39 at Shep Browns yesterday.

It appears that site is gone, I noticed it down about 3 or so weeks ago....My guess there was some heat from the individual fuel docks, and the administrator took it off.....Anybody know for sure? |
