NH Gas Rebate Form

Hi Folks,

I have just spent 45 minutes searching thru Google trying to find the gas rebate form.

No luck.

Does anyone have the link to the form?

Thanks in advance - because I know you will help me out..

Could you tell me how and what this form is all about? Thanks!!!

TomC 09-25-2006 12:58 PM

its a form to allow one to recoup Road Tax

Gasoline has a road tax built into the price. this process allows one to get a refund for fuel used in off-road vehicles (boats, OHRVs, construction equipment, etc)

Rebate Form Availability

This is a great way to get people not to apply for the rebate. Not have the site available to download the form.

Does anyone know of any other place the forms are available.. marinas... perhaps..

This link just worked for me when I tried it...

just like the health care web site..

NHskier 04-22-2014 07:35 PM

You are responding to a link posted nearly 8 years ago! It's not unreasonable for a website to have reorganized multiple times in that period of time.

The fuel rebate form can be found here:

Fuel TAX REBATE

DONT FORGET TO PUT YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS ON every RECPT.
or it will be rejected. I use the return address stickers that you get in the mail from all the groups begging for your hard earned dough....

upthesaukee 04-23-2014 03:29 PM

Hope it is not a problem...

Since we have had a boat, we have only had the bow numbers and our last name. From 2002 to 2012, never a problem...it has only been about 6 weeks for 2013.

GTO 04-24-2014 06:57 AM

no problem

I always have my last name on the slip but never my address. Just got my $56 rebate check a couple of weeks ago. Full tank of gas for the Seadoo is the way I look at it

Rich 04-24-2014 09:10 AM

Last year one of my slips didn't have my name or the boat's NH reg number on it. Nothing at all from the marina where I purchased the fuel.

So I wrote in my name, address and boat registration number on that one receipt. All of the others had at least my name on them from the marina (due to credit card processing).

NH rejected that one receipt I wrote on saying that it was not valid becase I modified it. :( Since they don't return your receipts, you have nothing to go on to ask for a reconsideration. I suppose I could keep a copy of all the receipts that I submit, but haven't done that.

This year, I didn't write anything on any of my slips, but they all had my name from the credit card transactions. I didn't write any address on them, or mark them in any way.

They were all accepted.

Is there a minimum amount you must spend on gas to be eligible for the rebate?

Just Sold 04-25-2014 07:15 AM

How long after mailing in your form does it take to get your rebate? I mailed mine in in March and have not seen anything yet.

Senter Cove Guy 04-25-2014 07:29 AM

Your rebate must be a minimum of $10.

You'll eventually get it but it will be awhile. The last one I received in late May.

GTO 04-25-2014 07:35 AM

seemed longer this year

I mailed mine in January and got the rebate late March

If you get your gas at Andrew's Marine Service at either Minge Cove Marina or Wolfeboro Corinthian Yacht Club, we do your road toll refund for you. I keep your receipts for the entire year, fill out the form for you and mail it to you in November. All you have to do is sign it and mail it with your receipts to the state.

Since I trailer my boat to/from the lake, 99% of my boat fuel is purchased roadside. All I get for a receipt is the credit card receipt printed out of the gas pump.

The first time I submitted a rebate form to the state, I delivered it in person and asked them to quickly review it to make sure I didn't forget anything. The office worker there told me to write my name and bow number on each receipt since there was no identifying information on these receipts (other than the last 4 digits of my credit card, the date/time of purchase, gallons purchased, cost per gallon and total cost). I did as instructed and didn't have any problems. Over the years, I've done all my rebates the same way and I've never had a problem. I always keep copies of my receipts and my form until the check arrives.

You watch, now that I've written this, I'll have a problem this year. :rolleye2:

As for the length of time to receive the rebate check, I have no idea since I don't remember when I dropped off last year's rebate form or when the check arrived. This year, I dropped it off in their office on Hazen Drive at 4:05pm on 4/15/2014. Nothing like waiting until the last minute! I'll just be happy when the check arrives (probably won't even see it until June).

I should be receiving a check for almost $64; that doesn't even come close to filling my 96 gal tank. Heck, it's not even enough to pay for the boat's registration but I'll take whatever I can get! :)

Time to start up the "Fuel Prices on the Lake" thread! :D

Greene's Basin Girl 04-26-2014 03:15 AM

I sent my receipts in in early March. I called Concord yesterday and they told me they had my packet of receipts. They said they process 1000's so I will have mine by the end of May. I have been sending them in for as long as I can remember. All of my Seadoo receipts are credit card slips as I obtain that gas off the water. I have never had a problem getting my refund check.

Fuel Tax Rebate

Another example of Government is not a friend. Fed Tax on fuel is .184 per gallon and state tax in NH is .38. So when you look at the fuel price deduct
.564 a gallon for tax. Now the rebate is for state tax portion only. Think of the millions of gallons dispensed at Winni alone and the number of people who don't even know about the rebate. Quite the windfall. I have not had a need to file for a few years, however, I always kept receipts in-order and filed day after boat was in dry dock. They make it difficult on purpose so you'll give up. They can watch us but we can't watch them.
I don't know how you would or if you can re-coop the Fed Tax.
Good luck and keep trying. Maybe the marinas would have a form or the Post Office. Should be available at State Liquor Store! LOL

tis 04-26-2014 04:05 PM

I don't file any more and haven't for years. I know it is stupid as we use a lot of gas but it was just one more thing to do and I stopped doing it. You guys are all making me feel very guilty reading about you filing and I think of all the money I am wasting. I guess I can call it just another donation to the government, huh?

Descant 04-28-2014 10:00 AM

Wasting money?

Actually, a portion of the unrefunded gas tax goes to the Fish and Game Dept. so it's not a total waste. Around 2004, the refund form was modified to allow you to designate all or some of your refund to the Navigation Safety Fund (Marine Patrol) or to milfoil control funds. At the time it was determined that if you do this, that is a tax deductible donation to the State of NH. If you don't ask for the refund, can you consider that a donation? Above my pay grade.

Others would suggest that when you give money to the state by not requesting the refund, you've turned the job of wasting money over to the professionals.

topwater 04-28-2014 07:19 PM

What a great loophole this would be if we could write it off. :rolleye2:
