House Inspector

Hi all,
Does anyone have a recommendation for a thorough house inspector, or a builder that could do house inspections? The house is located in Wolfeboro.
Thanks!

Just make sure they are licensed

Many house inspectors in NH don't have licenses or certifications.
Make sure the one you get has a some sort of certificate.
Also if you are a Veteran contact the VA and they usually keep a list of preferred home inspectors.

Today's Foster's Daily Democrat/Citizen Sunday edition ran a lead story on the home inspection business. Very interesting article that you can read on-line HERE!

How to find liscensed inspectors

Thanks for the info, guys. How does one go about finding a liscensed inspector? Is there a list somewhere, or do you just call and ask?
Thanks Again!

To find a licensed inspector, you can inquire at the Chamber of Commerce, they may have a list of members with proper credentials. The local building inspectors office office may have a list. You may also find some on a brochure rack at a realtors office.

Good luck!

Recommendation

We recently used Carla Horne from Grand View Home Inspectors in Meredith. She did a detailed inspection (found things that others missed) and I had the documentation in my hand the same day. Very professional. Her office is 603-279-8619.

Sorry to be slow in replying, we've been having problems with our internet lately. We decided to go with Mike Spinale at All Lakes Home Inspection. He is licensed and I think he did a great job. He will come back to check that the things he found have been fixed before we close, which will save us an extra four-plus hour drive. We are very excited to join the Winni community! Thanks to all of you and this wonderful forum for all the information provided to us newbies!
