Tonight Total Lunar Eclipse

from Space.com

http://www.space.com/spacewatch/0703...elsewhere.html

Starts about 5.30pm in the lakes region. Hope the sky clears!
I wonder where the best place is to try to watch it.

Alton bay

Alton Bay Scenic view???? Moonrise is 5:29 PM, so I would think it would be a good east facing location...but, looking at the weather radar, it is not looking so good, so perhaps a hot air ballon tethered up at about 6000Ft may be better :rolleye2: .

Cloud cover looks bad

:( Dosen't look like we'll see it... too bad!

Friend of mine told me the same, or near same effect will be visable for Sunday and Monday.. but I can't find any mention on Space.com or anywhere else.

I was driving north from Virginia Beach, and with the table-top-flat terrain of the Delmarva Peninsula, we had a completely unobstructed view for the entire event. I was wondering how the view was up at the Lake.

The good news: I've seen a preview of spring. Got sunburned on the sidelines of the soccer field yesterday, and afterwards made a stop at the beach to soak the toes. Water was cold, but the daffodils were in full bloom down there.

Not long now!
