It's Spring! Time to lighten up!
Ok, between the weather, seat belts, boat speed limits, snakes, snow, ice, etc, it's getting a bit tight here. Time to lighten up and welcome the advent of Spring and impending ice out.
The question is, "How many WiniForum members does it take to change a light bulb?" answer in next reply, with thanks to those who've contributed to the answer in many other forums around the internet. :D |
How Many?

Who knows, maybe all the flaming and hot air will help with ice out!:rolleye2:

How can you beat that answer? Wait a minute, this competition is fixed!! |
Merrymeeting, You put some thought into that  and now lets see how big this thread gets!
Great analogy and tongue in cheek. Thanks. Ice Out needs The Heat! Stop the SNOW |
Cabin Fever?
I think this is a case of CABIN FEVER! "I just shot six holes in my freezer".
Boat drinks! Thank you Mr. Buffett |
Lets not forget the half dozen people who will complain about changing the light bulb Too Fast:rolleye2:
|
Good One!
Thanks for the laughs, Merrymeeting!
By the way, was that an incandescent light bulb you were asking about ... or one of the new compact fluorescents? |
I'll help tune down the winter rampage
I'll go to another water spot that affects my mind with positive thoughts. Nassau for the week! TA TA! :D

incomplete
Interesting post by Merrymeeting but he failed to include discussion as to see if the wattage of the replacement light bulb was correct for the intended use. After all, one must determine if the pre-existing lamp was too bright or too dim for the application. ;)
 |
And a machine to change it...
...would be the idea from a poster, who shall remain anonymous, who would suggest a revolutionary invention to change said lightbulb, with thoughts to it being solar powered (a small highgain solar panel) wired to a motor that would serve two purposes...one to propel the unit to the bulb needing replacing, and then power the articulating arm that will extend and then grasp with the bulb with a pressure sensitive five fingered grip, mounted on a universal joint style knuckle capable of rotating in any direction to unscrew said defunct light bulb and insert and install the new one.
(What was that "Mee"...I have only had a couple...yes dear, maybe a couple more than a couple...what dear???...oh, ok I'll shut up and shut off the light...goodnight dear...yes I'll feel better too once spring gets here!!!!!!!!!) |
too complex. I think I will just go to Peppers for a Lobster roll
|
BAN them!

20 or so to express their displeasure with the light pollution caused by changing all those lights bulbs.

How aobut
- 24 to disassemble the old light bulb to correctly recycle the light bulb parts.
- 200 to determine if a change in daylight savings to year around will save light bulb use |
Now are we talking about indoor light bulbs or outdoor flood lights?

You forgot
Excellent list but you forgot
3 People to quote the "Live Free or Die" State Motto and their rights not to change the lightbulb if they so choose to continue to live in the dark |
New Business
I am planning on starting a new business repairing light bulbs. :rolleye2:

What does F.A.Q. mean ?

Don't forget the obligatory trip to Walmart to buy the bulbs in the first place.:D
|
don't forget the 3 or 4 replies that will somehow blame the marine patrol !!:rolleye1:

Everyone Stop!!
Not a single soul has mentioned anything about the 6 forum members who will need to run to the store and get the beer required to replace the lightbulb! You've all been inside too long!
(Whats that dear, I don't need any more beer to replace the lightbulb? But I just wanted a couple, uhm, err, what was I supposed to be doing?) |

Stick it
... add one for the person who will regale us, in a humorous fashion, that as a kid they stuck their finger in the socket and got "lit up" when changing a light bulb. Then add 4 people who will remind that person that there are impressionable kids reading the Forum who will think that was funny and get hurt emulating that action. 8 others will remind those 4 that lightbulbs aren't for kids (Tricks are for kids). 2 others will tell us how they used the 2'nd (inline) switch to confuse and/or annoy their sibling. One other will remind us that for a mere $19.73 you can buy that automated light bulb changer ..... ;)

Good post. Now I see the light.
|
Most importantly here
You all forgot the most important post in a changing the light bulb thread.
--- 1 post from the enginnering type that warns against over tightening or under tightening the light bulb, these things are spec for certian torque requirements you know.... and then there is the post from the guy who on page two repeats all the finding from page one so that no one has to go back to page one...... :D  :D  :D  |
15 Forum members...
One member to hold the lightbulb...
and 14 to drink until the room starts to spin around and around and around! Misty |
and 34 posts later .... nobody has found the lightbulb that needs changing ...

light bulbs needed
Don't forget your local Boy Scouts, they are selling light bulbs, but only when you do not need them.
How many does it take to change a bulb. Two one being the wife nagging for the umpteenth time, and one to put down the Jack Daniels. Oh yeah, if you plug the light in, you don't need to change the bulb! |
Environmental aspect ?
So when changing a light bulb should one use cloth or disposable ? :coolsm:
|
neither. this is NH. you would use sphagnum moss, like the american indians did. very eco friendly!

light bulb torque wrench

Then the 10 posts to tell us where is the best place to buy a good light bulb torque wrench. |
You only need one person.
A flatlander from Mass. He probably broke the bulb in the first place and should pay the non-resident rate for the privilige of operating said bulb. |
As we are all lovers of the lake it would be better to be sure not to be standing in the lake when changing the bulb. Could be very shocking!
