Bike week docking at the Weirs

How is the docking situation at the Weirs for bike week?

Has anyone visited by boat this week?

I was there on Sunday twice with no problems, once in very early afternoon and then about 6pm again, only concern I had is in some places and you know the fingers are tight there, the larger boats for some reason this weekend were docked all the way in and if you were to dock at the end they would not be able to get out without knocking your boat a little , but there was enough space on other fingers there so it was ok.

Bike Week docking

We docked Monday around noon, walked Lake Ave and then to Peppers for lunch. Plenty of slips.

If you show up during the week you should have plenty of slips, but from late Thursday on you will most likely find a waiting line. Most of last weekend, which would naturally be slower then this weekend, there were several boats circling and waiting. Good luck!

Weir's Docking

It is really no different than during the non-bike weeks and weekends, although you cannot dock in the back because they rope it off.

The fingers are completely available and since it is hard to pull a boat with a bike, the boat traffic is really lower. Some boaters choose to stay away during these days.

I have visited during the weekdays and it has been a worthwhile trip. There are some great two wheel machines on display and the folks are friendly, at least while I have been there.

Enjoy!

NHskier, I believe you have your dates wrong. Thursday is June 14; Sunday is June 17. ;)

Traffic

The dates are incorrect, but the days are correct.

Not so easy getting around in a 4 wheel vehicle in the Weirs from Thursday thru Sunday. Be careful driving as the bikes are everywhere.

Look twice or three times!

That's what I get for not looking closely at the website! Sorry about that.

I can't count the number of times I've told my daughters to pay attention to the information they're picking up on websites for school research. 8^)

The REAL deal, I hope ...

OK, so I got this set of info from: http://www.city.laconia.nh.us/

The closure times per day are the same as in the earlier posting.

There shall be no left turn from NH Route 3 at its intersection with Weirs Boulevard onto NH Route 11-B, with the exception of tour buses, State, City and County public safety vehicles, City and State municipal vehicles, and designated public transportation vehicles.

Thursday June 14, 2007, 12:00 noon to 10:00 PM
Friday June 15, 2007, 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM
Saturday June 16, 2007, 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM
Sunday June 17, 2007, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Maybe we can make a game out of this. What will the dates be in 2053, considering leap years, atomic clock adjustments, and time/space differential accounting? :)

The calendar says the dates will be
Thursday June 12, 2053
Friday June 13, 2053
Saturday June 14, 2053
Sunday June 15, 2053

However, in actuallity, the Thursday times start on Stardate 4531.5, which has been carefully calculated as a function not only of time but of the earth's position in the galaxy and its velocity at that point. I wish I could explain how this Stardate was derived, but it would take volumes to explain a timekeeping system such as this with its breathtaking complexity.

NHskier 06-15-2007 10:18 PM

Great answer! And yes, I believe any explanation of star dates would just make my brain hurt so thanks for not getting into the innards. :)

We had no trouble getting dock space Thur and Fri

I posted my pictures in the gallery.

It was perfect weather. We enjoyed looking at the bikes and the people watching was fun.

Mt Washington?

Speaking of docking at Weirs, did anyone see the Mt Washington run on Sunday? I didn't see it at all. Was the Sunday run cancelled because of Bike Week? If so, when was this done?

mets3007 06-17-2007 10:40 PM

The Mount never runs on Bike Week its a party boat for Jack Daniels.

wildwoodfam 06-18-2007 08:52 AM

The Mt Washington run may have been cancelled....
