Moultonborough FD Muster & John Edwards
 

Today I went to the Moultonborough Firemens Muster at the Castle in the Clouds and I saw Presidental Canidate John Edwards. Mr. Edwards actually took part in the antique hand pumper competition that I was also taking part in. It was pretty neat.

Did he win the competition, or was he way back, like in real life?

He did not win. He happened to be on the same hand pumper I was on at the time.

Hope he didn't ruffle up his $300 hair cut.

It was $1200.
 

I understand that his haircuts cost $1,200.

Jon Edwards was having late lunch today with his family at Patrick's Pub.Was very pleasant, said Hello to people, no politicking.

Have vacationed on Winnipesaukee a few times in the past few summers. They are very much NOT looking to be in the spotlight when at the lake - much like the Romney family lays low in Wolfeboro.

I've read through the few posts in this thread and found nothing "nasty," other than your accusation that people are being nasty.

We were up there during the entire firemen's muster, have a ton of photos, I'll post some when I get time this week. I heard he was there and pumping but I was taking photos and not paying attention much to who was where. What pump were you on? Was it the Victor? Just checking my photos and there looks like someone that might be Mr. Edwards. My husband worked on three or four of them. I know my husband worked the Union from Southborough, our hometown, He also did the Okommakamsit and a few others. We had a lot of fun but were dissapointed in the low turnout of visitors. Probably a lot to do with the weather. Shortly after we got there was the ten minute shower. We finished watching Tuftonborough and Moultonborough teams do their contests, but after the keg streamblast we were out of there in the heavy rains. Luckily they got the majority of events in before the real heavy rains came through. Nice time though. My husband was reminiscing with a lot of the Handtub guys. His mom and dad used to do the entire handtub runs around New England in the 50's to 70's so he still remembered some of the others that were still with it.

Yes I was on Victor (wich was the last one of the day) and I was also on Newburyport and one other (forgot the name). If you happen to be going to through your photos, I am right across from John Edwards (I am wearing a light grey grey shirt with my company logo on it, donnybrook home services) I left about the same time.

Maybe "nasty" was too harsh - I think those comments above were uncalled for and yes, :rolleye1: nasty.

I thought they were just funny and meant to be harmless. Edwards was a good sport to jump in and participate. Sounds like everyone there enjoyed themselves. I liked the photo in today's Citizen with him holding the fire hose.
