Bathing suits at the Lake

I'm lucky enough to belong to a very family association at da lake, we even use the word 'nickleodeon' to remind each other to keep the conversations PG, however, guys being guys, we try to have a little fun with the wives.
Our current subject is da guys opinion that there should be no skirt-type bathing suits on any of our ladies under 60.
Any opinions out there?

da big pep-erino!

Why not let "your" ladies choose for themselves what they feel comfortable wearing??

Why not ask "the wives" what they think?

Drummer girl,

you read too much into his post. he's not demanding no skirts, he's just asking an opinion. reality says, man may have opinion, but wife still make decision.

WOW! Tony Soprano has come to "da" lake!

And he is concerned about womens bathing suits!

one guy's opinion

It takes all types, and skirt suits at the beach look fine at any age. Many women seem to be slaves to fashion, and its nice to see alternative choices.

Call me crazy; but I do believe Tony S would opt for the skirt type bathing suit... :D

Sometimes tho... more is better.

More fabric to cover more skin, isn't always a bad thing.

(As someone who's VERY modest and hates being seen in a bathing suit, I opt for the skirt...)

Maybe they can keep the neckline interesting for ya! ;)

A full wetsuit is my choice

Make that a 7 mil one piece with an attached hood, Rhino hides seat & knees and booties... And, for the more daring add a pair of Kevlar lined gloves.

Now, that's my kind of swimming in style.

I ain't 60 yet

Not even close, but I wouldn't be caught dead in anything even vaguely resembling a bathing suit unless it was absolutely necessary. And, if it becomes necessary (being that I summer at the lake it does once in a while), I wear the longest suit with the most coverage I can find.

It's not modesty. Just what's comfortable. Those tiny suits just are not comfortable.

Wear what you like, lest someone else tell you what to wear. Don't worry, I won't judge ya!

I see some merit in what the OP said, though. Some ladies think they are compelled to wear a more conservative suit due to their physique (or perceived lack thereof), when in fact they look fine... just too self-conscious. If it's just more comfortable, then go for the skirt-suit.

True for both genders

This applies to men, too. There are very few gentlemen who actually look good in a Speedo (sorry guys).

more is better..

true nuff Rose, butt my 30 pack belly would block the view of any tiny suit like that.
anyway, its all about how the wifes look that matters, not how we look.
guyz is guyz.

I nominate "necked" and move for a vote!:D

wildwoodfam 07-13-2007 09:17 PM

My god - I feel ike I am in a TV Land episode of...

The Sopranos meet The Beverly Hillbillies ...

"guyz is guyz, true nuff" - and all of us voting on "gettin' necked" - perhaps down at the cement pond!

It's to much!!
