Boating Rage Leads to Attempted Murder
 

With all of the stories I have read here about Capt. Bonehead could an incident like this be far behind?

Considering they have known each other for years, I think the rage probably had nothing to do with a boating incident.

Agreed, saw a report on the news this morning and apparently these guys have known each other for a long time and had some sort of on-going "disagreement".

Blown way out of proportion? The guy intentionally rammed another boat! Not once, but twice! What exactly do they think is in proportion? :eek:

And to mcdude's question, I think an incident like this is more than possible on Winni these days. As I noted in another thread, there's an awful lot of yelling and negative gesturing out there. And for what? When folks can get that torqued, it's not a long trip before the remaining behavior and lack of judgment appears.

Kinda funny,really. The report on NESN said that they were throwing full beer cans at each other.....which anyone knows is stupid because they foam up after being shaken.Yuk,yuk:laugh:

This is a clear example of Alcohol Abuse! Bear was made to be consumed and not tossed around in a manor other than it's intended purpose. This behavior is totally W R O N G ! :laugh: Looks like the parties were and have been completely out of control.

Lots of pontoons can hit 40! Depends on the engine!
 

Remember that the vessels that were in the dispute were oean going vessels - so one would hope the pontoon has a larger engine for open sea boating! My neighbors had a 26' pontoon with two engines and that thing hauled out of his dock!! And unfortunately INTO his dock one fateful night...talk about mis-use of beer!:rolleye2:

I guess that's why a lot of people call them "can boats" :D

They showed the pix last night of the victims boat.... and the defendants! Just upon a casual glance, I seriously doubt the pontoon boat was traveling at close to 40MPH. There are some small scratches on the gunwales of the victims small Checkmate outboard and no easily visible damage to the defendants pontoon.

It sounds to me like a whole bunch of AIS (Alcohol Induced Stupidity)!!

Looks like another case promoting Darwins theory; "Survival of the Fittest". Left to their own devices, only the smarter humans will be left to cruise the lake!

Maybe I was seeing different photos than you Woodsey but the boat I saw had quite a smashed in front end.I think we need a speed limit on the ocean as well.Ya thats it.That would have prevented this accident from happening right?Wrong!

Well, they need something on the ocean, look at all the submarines that have ramed ships, boats, I suppose speed might have something to do with that.

I didn't know you could get intoxicated by eating Bear? Geez I hope they were throwing "empties" at each other instead of full cans?

I'm a little suspicious about the Pontoon boat doing 40 miles an hour?
