Movie of Winni from 1929

Rattlesnake Gal started a thread on this in 2004 with some still shots, but I don't think a video clip was posted back then. Here is a six minute or so video of action on the Lake in 1929: http://www.mefeedia.com/entry/1929-h...shire/5234811/.

And here is the original thread: http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/...ead.php?t=1313.

Enjoy!

Really awesome

That is a great post, loved it.
I wonder who the family was that was fliming the home video?
I wonder where they weer staying?
If they still have family up there or vacationing up there?

Not to hi-jack tht thread, but did anyone else notice how close the boats were to eachother and waterskiiers and vice versa, not to mention the boat races and plane landings in front of the Weirs with a bunch of boats around,

The best is the boat that when the original MT. Washington is coming towards the camera and they are in the Weirs a speed boat jets right down her starbboard side i would have to say maybe less than 25 feet away, I want to say close rbut not be proven wrong.

Ahh the old days, wouldn't it be nice to go back that way on the lake

Thank you, Frank for sharing :D
I DID enjoy and very much so!
What a great old video!
Is this from your family's history or did you just happen to find it?

Thanks for posting the great video! It was wonderful seeing the boat racing and the ol' Mount, and the Weirs waterfront and everyone enjoying the "Great Smiling Spirit"

Great Movie, I really enjoyed watching it and trying to see where they were on the lake from the landmarks.

So cool...

Do you know who the family is in the beginning and where their camp is. I have to believe that the Irwin family was a part of the other scenes around the Weirs.

I see a lot of GFBL boats, gross violations of the 150' rule, water skiiers without pfd's, etc. Marine Patrol must have had a field day!

Thanks for sharing!

Hi all -

Glad you enjoyed it. I can take no credit for the movie other than just running across it on the web. I don't know whose family it is (my wife's family starting coming to the Lake in the 50s, not the 20s). In Rattlesnake Gal's original thread on this, she said it came from a NJ family and was available on a DVD. But that's all I know :(.

Anyway, it was fun to watch!
