Barbecue Caterers
Once again I am hoping that forum members will be able to help. We are planning a catered rib barbecue (and fixings) this summer. Attended the Rib Fest at Gunstock last summer and never thought to take any business cards and have not found any listed in the phone book. Does anyone have any experience with this type of family outing and/or recommendations. Thanks in advance.

KC's Rib Shack in Mancester will cater around the lake and he has won all kinds of awards. He is on Second St in Manchester.

Wine'ing Butcher in Gilford
When I was in earlier this winter, they were talking about potentially doing something like this. Probably worth a call, as their meat is top-notch.

Bsrbecue Caterers
Our Condo Association has used Mame's for a number of years. It has always bee pretty good with ribs, chicken, hotdogs and hamburgers and assorted other goodies.

I can support Winni P with respect to Yankee Smokehouse. I have never had them come and do an on-site BBQ for me, but my wife and I eat there several times each season and the food is great.

There is a new place in Portsmouth, Mojo's BBQ Shack. I know Moe, one of the owners personally and he is an INCREDIBLE cook. Having lived with him years ago (in my young, single days) that man can cook. His BBQ sauce is sold in many stores under the name "Arkansauce".

If I were [ I may be ] gonna hire someone to do a real Bar-b-que, I would get a hold of a lady ,,,name is Ellie marie Murphy..i won't bore you with all the details unless you ask me, but it is not to be believed ,,,she really seems to care ...if you know what I mean ...she really gives a sh(1
I have had bar-b-que all over the place and she rocks !!! I would also add that when you hire someone to do a catering or a bar-b-que , they tend to be a bit pricey ,only because of the man [woman] power involved........a really write home about bar-B-Que ,,,takes so much prep that all you see is the end result ,,,you never see very much of the 10 - 12 hours of prep time , and then the 4-6 hours on the grill If you think this is something you would like to look into .let me know .. I don't want to turn this into an advertisement ...but when its good ,,,,its good ,,,and she really puts her heart and soul into it .. WARNING!!!! If you want her for your Bar-B- Que , don't wait ...she is normally booked up 2+ months in advacnce.. let me know ...I will post her URL or e-mail if you want her Bar B Que ribs ,,, funny thing about this woman,,,,,,,,,,, she Really seems to care ....tough to find in this day and age Mike |
We had a Texas BBQ at the Wolfeboro Corinthian Yacht Club that was catered by the following:
PORKY’S BBQ 28 Hamblins Hayway Marstons Mills, Ma. 02648 508-801-1406 Vito Marotta, owner Vito@ Cape.com He cooked brisket, pork, chicken and ribs on site in his trailored smoker and it was unbelievably good. I would highly recommend him. |

I'm with Riverat. Muddy River Smokehouse is the best. They did a wedding for us and the food and service was fantastic.

Barbeque
I just thought of something you may want to keep in mind when checking out BBQ places -- there are different types of BBQ and what you are thinking may not be what they do. For example, in some parts of the South BBQ is putting a dry rub on meats and smoking said meat for a certain number of hours; the meat is served "dry" and you add your own sauce to taste. I've found that "here", meaning NH, most people think of BBQ as the meat being cooked with the sauce put on it at some point, or sometimes even simmered in the sauce and it's served all together rather than "add your own sauce".
Also, have you checked Gunstock's website, or perhaps contacted them, for a list of the vendors who were at that event and perhaps some of the names will ring a bell and you could contact them for your event? Just another thought. |
You are right Waterbaby - but the only real BBQ is the southern style - we absolutley can not compare to our sloppy style to it.
