The Homestead
Went to the Homestead Restaurant in Bristol a couple weeks ago and saw seafood lasagna on the menu. I had never heard of it before so decided to give it a try. It has an Alfredo sauce rather than a tomato based sauce, as with most lasagna. It was out of this world and took home enough for two more meals. Definitely something I wouldn't mind having again, and again and again. If you like seafood, you will definitely enjoy this dish. The staff was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend the place.

See WEBPAGE and MENU here. They also have a place in Londonderry and I think they are somehow associated with Fratello's in Laconia.

Dinner Last Night at The Homestead
My wife and I went to The Homestead last night and a very delicious meal. I had the fried Scallops and my Wife had Mediterranean Salmon. We stared with a bowl of French Onion Soup, one of the Best in the area. We then had a very crispy Garden Salad, the Peppercorn Parmigiana dressing very tasty. My scallops were very good and the portion was more than I could finish. Oh, the one thing for me when eating Sea Food you must have a sweet TATAR Sauce. I hate the Vinegary ones.
My wife Salmon was Great, she had a "STUFFED" baked potato that was excellent. There was a slight downside to the evening, we were seated in the Big room the the Sliding Glass Doors. It was very noisy and dark to the point you could not read the menu. A quick word to the hostess and we were moved the front room, it's off to the left as you come in, windows on 2 sides and only 2 other couples dining there. Would we go again, Defiantly! |
Is that associated with the one in North Conway?
Was it OUTSTANDING, Chickie??????:laugh: |

Oh, is it closed? I didn't know that. Years ago we went there quite a lot and it was very very nice.

One reviewer asked if their lobster was fresh or frozen. No answer They describe a complete meal for $31.95 and featured warm rolls and sweetbread. Sweetbread: Sweetbreads or ris are culinary names for the thymus or the pancreas especially of the calf and lamb. Mmm mmm good. Love my buttered rolls and pancreas. |
We've been to The Coach Stop in Londonderry several times (5 or 6 I'd say), and enjoy it very much. I wouldn't say it's worth a long drive or is anything super-special, but we find it to be very good overall.
And the sweetbread comes in the basket with the rolls. It's slices of something similar to a pumpkin bread or a date nut bread. Good, but the rolls are GREAT. |

TPG, what was it specifically that bothered you about the CS? I know you said one and done, so it must have been a complete disaster? |
We do not live too far from the Coach Stop and it has always been a great place to have special dinner or sit at the bar with an app and drink and listen to the live music on Friday or Saturday night. They have totally remodeled the 2nd floor bar area to include a covered outside deck and opened the whole floor so you can see the entertainemnt from any seat. The food is very good and a similar fare to the Homestead. We enjoy it very much.

I guess they figured they got their guaranteed 18% from the large party and the hell with 4 diners.
