Looking for recommendations from a picky eater

Myself, my husband, and my son are coming up to Gilford in late July for a one-week vacation. My son eats typical children's menu stuff, no problem. My husband eats anything, no problem.

I'm the problem.

I don't like meat. I don't like seafood. I mainly eat pasta, pizza, salads, soups, etc.

Can you recommend any restaurants that have at least one pasta/pizza option on their menu? (Meatless pasta, so this rules out chicken parm, etc.)

Last year we went to Patrick's Pub, Fratello's, T-Bones, the restaurant in the same building as T-Bones, Giuseppe's, Friendly's, and Pizza Hut. I enjoyed them all except the Tex-Mex restaurant in the same building at T-Bones (can't remember the name... maybe Catcus something?). And my husband hated Pizza Hut (or Greasy Hut as he calls it) so we won't be going back there.

I'd love some suggestions for this year's trip. Thanks! :)

BBS1 and I came to Waldo's last summer and are looking forward to coming again this spring. Clams sound appealing to BBS1. Since I'm veg though, is there anything besides the peppers and mushroom thing for folks like me? :liplick:

Sure! Let's see ...

Eggplant Parmesan
Cheese Pizza
Cropduster Pizza - (Onion, Peppers, Mushroom, Broccoli and Tomato)
Greek Pizza - (Onion, Olive, Spinach, Tomato and Feta)
Caesar Salad
Tossed Salad
Grilled Veggie Sub
Cold Veggie Sub
Pepper Poppers
Mozzarella Sticks
Fries with or without cheese
Onion Rings
Cole Slaw

So, unless you are strict Vegan, we have a fair number of items which could accommodate you. ;) Hope this helps!

Nice place, worth a visit...

The Lyons' Den at Glendale, near the Marine Patrol and the Glendale Docks (Gilford)...

Their menu:

Soups, Salads, and Pasta Primavera...

P.S.- Dessert Heaven, as well... :liplick:

Lyons den

Does anyone know if this is a restaurant/bar that you can dock and eat. I'm on an island and it can be a pain to leave the lake for lunch or dinner, and the options in Alton bay and Wolfboro are getting a bit old. Also, they are a bit limiting to start with. I'd love to hear feedback on the restaurant either way, although, I don't like being so close to the MP.

You can certainly dock & eat there.... the downside is that the parking for boats is somewhat limited as most of the Gilford Town Docks are set aside for Islanders...

You really hould go there and try it out! I love the food, and the bar there is small and cozy... Its one of my favorite haunts!

Elacoya Barn & Grill

Disney31;

I would recommend the Elacoya Barn & Grill. Great atmosphere and great food. They are located just after Elacoya State Park on the right adjacent to the general store.

The Lyons Den at the Glendale Docks is also very good.

The Owls Nest for lunch is great and they have a dock so you can go by boat!

Sunrise Cafe

If you are looking for a great place to have breakfast, you should try the Sunrise Cafe. I went there the other day and it was unbelieveable, they had some great specials too.

I agree that both the Lyon's Den and the Ellacoya Barn & Grill are very good local restaurants. Both have interesting menus, a cozy bar and Guinness on tap. :coolsm:
