Photo of the busy channel.

I snapped this photo yesterday for anyone interested in how busy it was while the channel cam was on hiatus.

I left it large so you can get a good look at all the folks on the bridge.

Busy but where are the wakes

Nice shot of a busy bike weekend at the weirs. Are the people on the bridge just standing watching or are they in a parade or traffic line?

With all those weekend boaters in the channel how come I don't see wicked wakes? Did you miss those shots or are some of the posters exaggerating a bit about the big wakes in the channel? I know about wakes outside the channel on the Weirs side but that is normal.

Thanks for bike week shots and the channel cam.

About half of the people are leaning against the bridge and watching the crowds....the other half is walking further up the road.

I only saw one boat during all of bike week that blatantly ignored the no wake in the channel. I'm sure it happens more frequently than I notice, but one this is for sure...the road (lake?) manors in the channel had to have been better than the ones observed on the roads. I got to experience some vehicles drifting-over-the-centerline first hand.
