Boston Seafood Closing?

I heard yesterday that, this Sunday will be the last day they will be open. Closing the doors! Hopefully just for the winter, but that was not the impression I got. Its really too bad, their prices where outstanding and so was the food, I guess its going to force me to finally try the Lobster Pound.

I was in there today. They said that they are just closing for the season.

The owner of Boston Seafood just confirmed to me that the current plan is to open again in April. They closed for the season last Sunday but have some catering jobs coming up.

Things can change but right now they plan to be back in the spring.

I received confirmation from the owner of Boston Seafood that they are now closed for good. A Sushi restaurant has leased the building and should open sometime this spring.

Update: The new restaurant will serve Thai food and Sushi.

that's too bad as i thought they had the best valued lobster roll in the lakes region but I have to say it was never crowded when we went there. Will have to find a new place next summer

That is a bummer...

But also answers the question I had about the for sale or lease sign I thought I had seen out front.

Darn! I liked that place!

The sign had been up for a while. We noticed it earlier in the year. I guess it's just a sign of the times. For those of us who frequent the Weirs on a weekend basis beginning in the early spring, there's going to be some shock when we see how many stores/businesses haven't been able to weather the economic storm. It'll be sad for sure. I suppose others will have gone the same way as Boston Seafood. We have to hope the economy is able to work itself out. If not, I suppose we'll see more empty buildings during the course of the year. What's really sad is an empty building equals unemployed people. That's the saddest of all.

Disappointing ...

Sad to read they're closing. We keep our boat at Thurston's and have enjoyed being able to walk over the bridge for an occasional lunch or dinner at Pepper's ,or this past summer at Boston Seafood.

Since no one in our family is a sushi fan I guess we'll be looking for something (anything) else in the immediate area.

I wonder how a Subway franshise would do in the Weirs?

Hmmmmm....now that will add some flavor to the Weirs!
I'm just not sure how much of the bike & beach crowd is into such things!
Wish them the best!
