Tuscany's

I went to their restaurant behind the Tamarack, Tuscany's a few weeks ago. I do not like to trash local businesses... BUT.. it was horrible. I had ravioli, the outside was hot and the inside was ice... I mean ice... cold. They did heat it up for me. The red sauce has way too much pepper in it... The raviolis themselves were very good. I took the rest home... dumped the sauce and added my own and salvaged half of the meal.

There was only one person there and it had only two patrons and we waited at least 10 minutes for our order to be taken and at least 20 minutes to be served.

The owner came in to witness the icy food and peppery sauce... so we did due diligence in notifying management.

Tuscany's

The pizza there is actually quite good. Also the buffalo wings.

Tuscany's is my new favorite pizza place... it's absolutely to die for. They also have good onion rings.

I hope to try the rest of the menu options soon.

I can't speak for the rest of their menu, but I like their pizza!

i thought the taste of Tuscany in Center Harbor pizza wasn't as good as Anthony's

Moss Creek Media 01-27-2009 10:17 PM

I love their pizza (the Tuscany's behind Tamarack)

Closest I've come to "NJ pizza" (hey, I grew up there!)

It's run by the new owner of the Tamarack (Jim I think)

But they're closed now for the winter. It's quite annoying how local businesses disconnect their phones or in the case of Tuscany's, it just rings and rings (how about a voicemail message saying 'we're closed until April' or something?

Hi folks, thanks for the kind words. Sorry about the phone issue but it was sort of a quick decision to close for the season. We had hoped to stay open year - round but just not enuff biz. I really hope to re-open around mid March at least for weekends. I hope you all will come visit us then!

Again, thanks for the kind words.

Jim Clayton
P.S. This spring we'll have beer & wine and Tamarack customers can also sit & order in Tuscanys.

I saw two vehicles there this afternoon. Since the snow in parking is nearly gone.

Great Pizza !

It really is the closest thing to BRONX PIZZA you are gonna find in New Hampshire, besides Elvios in N.Conway !

dpg 03-28-2009 09:06 AM

I really wished the owner commented on I.G.'s concerns? I'd like to try them...But...

coach0834 03-28-2009 09:09 AM

I guess i really have to try the taste of tuscany in laconia because I've been to the one in moultonboro and it started out great but lately I've been having bad experiences. I remember a guy paul that worked there since Anthony's days and I think after he left that's when some of the problem started. For instance, there is black (for lack of a better word)Soot on the bottom of the pizza. One time I called and asked for a cecielien(bad spelling i know), it's the rectanugular extra thick crust pizza that I get almost twice a month and the person on the phone didn't even know what it was nore did any of the other kids working there. Now I hope no one takes this post the wrong way becuase I will definately give them another try. but since people seem to be so happy with the one in laconia it might be worth the drive.

As I understand it, Paul was one of two owners of Anthony's. It was sold and became Tuscanny and Paul worked there off and on for a while, maybe during the transition, but haven't seen him in a while in Moultonboro. I haven't tried the Weirs or seen who is manning the ovens there, yet :)

Irrigation Guy 03-28-2009 10:31 AM

Was Paul the grumpy one with the personality of a rock? My wife always complained they were soo unfriendly in there and I'd have to agree.

Hope the new place gets it together.

wifi 03-28-2009 11:13 AM

Paul was tall, thin with reddish hair. His partner looked more Mediterranean, and I observed the partner throwing things from time to time... never at customers tho... atleast when I was there :D

gonetoolong 03-28-2009 03:44 PM

DPG, I did.......

address I.G.'s concerns in person while she was here. We were still a bit new at this and had a few stumbles but I think we've got it worked out now !

I can't change last falls messages on the Tamarack sign, I need a internet connection to 'talk' to it and I'm a victim of the Verizon - Fairpoint switch. Once (if ever) Fairpoint fixes the line then I can put up our hours on it. Until then I'm stuck with an old message but we're open Fri & Sat 4 - 9 and Sunday 3 - 7 with an abbreviated menu. I just have the sign on so people will now we are open again.

As to Moultonboro, we figured out why the bottom was getting too crispy (nice way of saying burnt) & we fixed that also.

Think Spring !

Thanks,

Jim Clayton

We had a bad experience with Anthony's in Moultonborough (undercooked pizza-raw in the middle). We tried again when it became Tuscany's but Paul was still cooking and had the same experience. Pie was okay once we re-baked it at home for a while but we weren't pleased.

Maybe we will give the Weirs location a try.

Irish mist 03-28-2009 07:48 PM

I had their pizza at the Weirs late last autumn and it was very good:) I was quite pleased at how good the quality was.

I really love their lobster bites ,,,chunks of lobster deep fried ! Very good !

coach0834 03-29-2009 10:21 PM

Thank you for clearing that up Jim. I'll be sure to give it another try soon. unfortunately it seems like I always want pizza on monday and they are closed but that is understandable due to the economy. I'll let you know how my experience goes.

60% Off

I saved 60% when I ate at Tuscany's. I bought a $20 certificate for $8! What a steal. Here is the site where you can do it.

Just got our.....

Beer & Wine license. What kinda wine goes with pizza? I'm more of a beer guy. Any suggestions?

BlackCatIslander 06-16-2009 08:40 PM

Chianti probably the best bet

I like some of the better cabs but with pizza I think Italian and would select a chianti. Most of your customers will probably select soft drinks or beer.
