Gasoline Spill Clean Up
Some dope.. (That would be me) managed to not secure a gas can in the back of his SUV. The resulting tip over and spill of about 1/2 gallon of gas has the car almost impossible to drive due to the fumes.
It's been a week and I've tried a bunch of fixes. Apple cider vinegar, Oust, Zorb.. etc. Has anyone had a similar situation and managed to remove the smell short of ripping out the carpeting and replacing it? Any suggestions greatly appreciated. |
i googled this for you
and this thread popped up with a few ideas you might want to try:

Gas fumes
Sorry to hear you had the accident Steve
You not only have the carpet soaked in gas but you have a insulation pad below the carpet soaked. I would suggest removing the carpet, which will probably involve removing the seats and bring the carpet to the local self service car wash for a high pressure wash and rinse. You have a time bomb lurking in your car with the gas. Be careful gas fumes are nothing to play with. Good luck and be safe. Charlie |
