Mini Mount

The owners of the M/S Mount Washington are in possession of the Mini Mount.
The announcement was made during The Mount's Shakedown Cruise.
See the Webmaster's post, #16.

Mini Mount current location.....

The Mini Mount is still stored in the Irwin steel building at the south end of their facility. I was looking at it yesterday afternoon. It is truly a thing of beauty. It has twin inboard engines for propulsion. There is a bow thruster. The exterior details are life like. The passengers (dolls) are all unique and realistic. I have taken many cruises on the real mount and the stairs, windows, railings, helm station, and smoke stack seem to be the correct scale. It would be interesting if there are details to how the mini mount came to be. Hope many have the opportunity to see this piece of art up close.

What is the Mt. going to do with the Mini? Will they run it? I love seeing it so I hope they don't ground it! I would love to know their plans if they know and if anyone knows!

Sorry I missed those Sunset Bob! They didn't come up in a Mini Mount search. Maybe they don't have Mini Mount in the description? I did however use some of your Mount photos in the calendar for their events. :D

Sunset Bob 05-26-2009 08:45 PM

Mee-n-Mac 05-27-2009 10:37 PM

Will they rename her

Not to be too pedantic but didn't the original owner and creator call her The Little Mount. While Mini Mount has a certain alliterative appeal and Mini Me was popularized in the Austin Powers films, I got the feeling the owners didn't care much for that name. Am I wrong ?

That could be, but sometimes you have to give the people what they want and that would be mini!

I think it seats 10. It's 40 feet long and has 2 350 v8s for power.

Mini Mount has some cojones!

SAMIAM 05-29-2009 10:24 AM

Sooooooooooo.....the Mini Mount is a go fast boat in disguise........very clever. Better get the radar ready in case they run into OCDACTIVE out there.
Better yet, lets pass a law limiting horsepower in mini Mount reproductions.

The sign above the Little/Mini Mount's slip (see below) does say "Little Mount". That appears to be the official name although "Mini-Mount" is the common nickname for the boat and is widely used:

Here is a video of the announcement of the transfer of ownership recorded on the recent Shakedown Cruise including some remarks by Jack Miller. Jack does call it "Little Mount" except when he mentions that mail is sent to "Mini-Mount" care of the Wolfeboro Post Office:

SIKSUKR 05-29-2009 02:12 PM

So it sounds from Jack's speech that the Mini was not sold but gifted to Mt Washington Cruise? Or maybe I misunderstood when he said they did not want to sell it to somebody who would not keep running on Winni?

That was my impression. When they presented the clock they thanked him for his "contribution".
