Vegetarian Friendly Restaurants
We are looking for vegetarian friendly restaurants in the Lakes Region. We used to go to Krayatip Thai Cuisine, but I cannot go there anymore now that I am allergic to peanuts. :emb: It's just too risky. We are casual people that do not like food that is too fancy. (With my allergies, simple works best.)
Thanks in advance! Celia |
William Tell
Celia,
We were at the William Tell last week with our vegetarian friend who always orders the William Tell salad and the 3-cheese mac and cheese as her entree. Although it's in the kiddie and lunch column, anyone can order this combo any time. When we mentioned to the waitress about being a vegetarian, she also suggested that our friend could order the linguini with sauce as they now have veal parm on the menu. I guess this would be veal parm with linguini (hold the veal). They also have their regular cheese fondue for 2 on the menu for those who at least eat dairy products. |
Vegetarian dinner at Coe House
Last summer, we had dinner with friends at Coe House. Hadn't been there since they had re-opened. I had a great appetizer of foie gras, and for my entree had the grilled vegetables. OMG. It was totally fabulous. Grilled squash, tomatoes, eggplant, corn, polenta ... it was one of the best meals I have had .. and I am not a vegetarian. Give it a shot.
Also, if you eat fish at all, and some vegetarians do, go to Canoe and have the scallops. They are served on a bed of - get this -cheesy grits with smoked bacon and baby shrimp. OMG. The best. |
Having been a vegetarian for the last 37 years, that is a pertinent question to me too.
LemonGrass, the Thai place in Laconia (and Tilton too) all have several good vegetarian options. The Mexican place in Laconia says it doesn't use lard in theri beans, so they have some vegetarian options (but the food just doesn't taste good there, based on several visits) For Indian food, the closest I've found is in Concord (generally good place there). I would LOVE an Indian place closer to the Lakes Region. |
Gotta ask ,in a friendly way ,,,
If we are not supposed to eat animals, how come they make 'em outta meat ?? |
It just occured to her
RG does not want people to get the "wrong idea". She is not the vegetarian. It is my son's girlfriend. RG is a true carnivore.

The sous-chef at The Restaurant in Wolfeboro is vegan and does a special or two each night.

Another question....
I've always wondered about, can vegetarians eat animal crackers?

Thanks!
