Moultonboro Neck Chaos?

This morning around 9:30am several, I mean SEVERAL emergency vehicles and two ambulances went buzzing down Moultonboro Neck Road. Does anyone know what happened? I hope nobody was seriously injured but the whole scene was unnerving for sure!

Not sure...but I can tell you about us!

Hey Hazelnut...Cannot help you with the 9:30 call Sunday, but in case you saw sirens at 4:30ish, that was me (or us....my family).

Sometimes, We feel for ever step forward... we take we take two steps backwards.

Launched our "aluminum" raft on Friday only to find out it was sinking. Dragged it back in.....on Sunday, after trying pump out the pontoons...we tried to lift it back on shore....not an easy task! 2 Guys...a few boys and 2 women..lifting it....my brother in law manage to cut his finger....in half. Essentialy from the first nuckel it was essentially cut off. Not a pretty site. We had 7 kids, 5 adults and 4 dogs running around....frantic!

We yelled to call 911..when actually (I) was not sure if 911 worked from a cell phone. It did. And let me tell you and it is probably worth a new thread (about the great responders of the LR)...the people, that responded were Awesome. The response was amazing. They were right down there at Harilla Landing. Great, great people. Also, Lakes Region Gen Hosp...got great treatment there as well. All and all...a very stressrul late afternoon, but we were certainly taken care of by wonderful people, whom, I am sure are mostly volunteer!

Many years ago, my Uncle suffered a stroke. He was with my mom on Long Island and they called for help and said they would meet at Jo-Jo's. By the time my mother got my Uncle to Jo-Jo's all the responders were there. My mom to this day still talks about how great the responders were. And we found that out again.

So....long story short...no, I do not know what was going on at 9:30 Sunday morning. What ever it was, I hope everything turned our for the best.

But when all is said and done....there are some pretty good people out there willing to help the rest of us!

WOW! I am so glad everything turned out OK! Scary time though I am sure. Yes whatever I saw it looked like they brought out the cavalry. Stay safe out there!!

So what happened to the guy that got his finger cut off?

eillac@dow 07-08-2009 08:37 AM

That Guy is doing Ok. As I said before he got great treatment at Lakes Region GH. He is set up to see a hand specialist.

I told him, he needs to go see Dr. Summer-off. Although, with all this rain, he might be better off going to work!

I was reading the obituaries in the Citizen on line this morning and saw this obit:

I fear that may have been the cause. Condolences to the family.

Dave

Oh that is just awful. I am pretty sure that is what the response was for. They brought out just about every emergency vehicle in the area that morning. I am sad to hear that this was the outcome. Dave, thanks for the information.

Condolences to the family as well. 56 is just too young! I'm sure the Far Echo Community is devastated.
