Beach Area at Weirs Beach
We are going this Sunday to Weirs Beach and I just wanted to ask here if the lake is ok to swim in. Last year when we went there was bacteria or something in the water, so it was closed the whole week. It of course opened the day we left. Thanks!

Swim away
Kelly, as far as I have heard there has not been any bacterial issues at all at any area at Winni this year.I'm sure the high rainfall has been a positive factor in flushing any potential problem.I would not even concern myself at all this year with any bacterial closures.Have at it!

Here is a LINK to the state agency that determines water quality. The last entry was a week ago and there was no mention of issues at the Weirs.
I'd check it before you leave http://des.nh.gov/ |
Thank you for the quick responses!!!

Only problem that I've heard of this year is the beach on lake Opechee near the middle school.I've seen people feeding large flocks of ducks and geese so I'm not surprised that the bacteria count is high.
