Football Season
Okay, the summer may not be over yet, but FOOTBALL is upon us. Being that this is my first season at the lake, where am I going to find that big screen TV and those hot wings while watching the Patriots?
Please help!!!! |
Depends
It depends on where you are, and what type of crowd you want.
If in Meredith, Giuseppe's always has a good mix of locals/tourists, and real sports fans. Nice bar, very good food, two screens only. A favorie of mine. Always a good time. Wolfeboro...Upper Deck Sports bar...great views of the lake, pool tables, decent food, several TVs...great place to watch a game, and feel like you are at the lake. Gilford...Patrick's Pub...a true sports bar...very good food (close to great food)...I believe they carry the whole NFL Direct TV package. Not at all a feeling of being at the lake, but rather at any very good sports bar on an NFL Sunday. Don't miss it...be sure to give it a few whirls. You can't miss here. Laconia..several choices here. So, I'll just go with my favorite. TBones/CJ's. TBones offer fantastic views of Paugus Bay, food is VERY consistent...very good/ excellent. Always have great game day specials....1.99 (or 2.99, not sure) beers, app specials....However, the nod for game day atmosphere here goes downstairs to CJ's...same specials, on both food and beer. You lose the lake view, but gain many hig def TV's, placed in just the right spots, and a truly unique menu of great food. TBones and CJ's are in the same building on Union Ave. CJ's as well as Patruck's Pub are "must try" during NFL Sunday's. So sit back, grab a spread sheet, a cold beer, call the bookie, and fire away. Nothing like an NFL Sunday on a cold, crisp, Fall afternoon. |
You missed our favorite ---
C J Avery's in Lakeport  |
You might want to try the "Crazy Gringo" In the heart of Weirs Bch.They always have an extra cold brew and they usually put out a little something during Pat's games fun place good times
|
My faves to watch a game.... they all have thier strengths, but to watch a Pats game on a sunday.....
(In no particular order) 1. Crazy Gringo.... 2. Weirs Beach Lobster Pound... 3. Looney Bin.... 4. Cactus Jacks.... Woodsy |
Really?
Loony Bin? Really? Never been there, but often have thought of stopping in.
Worth a try? |
The North End
If you're in the Moultonborough area, the North End will be staying open for the winter, and will have expanded hours on Saturdays and Sundays for college and NFL football.:D
|
Thank you
Thank you all. I will try the North End for game 1, Patrick's for game 2 and the Loony Bin for game 3 and go from there.

Shooters on rt. 3 in belmont, they have several large tv's and *excellent* wings. They also have a shuffleboard table, which is my weakness

Avery's
I will always favor C J Avery's. They have 7 new 45 to 55 inch flatscreen TV's around the main room. They will also give you a sound box for the one you are interested in listening to.
Food is great and teh bar is fantastic! |

I have to say though The Gringo is always a good time, I also second the Cactus Jacks and the Lobster Pound. Most of my experiences with these places are in the winter when I am apt to pull up on the snowmobile. I have to say that these places treat us "sledders" very well. I can only imagine how they treat the football crowds. |
Buckey's
Buckey's on 109 in Moultonborough has great HD TVs and cold beer!

Pre season Test run
Tried out the Lobster Pound Friday night for the Pat's 3rd pre season game. Food was better than average, the bartenders were terrific, and the TVs were pretty good. I wish the sound were on for the game, though I understand why it was not. This is not somewhere I will be going for the regular season. Another game next week, so it's on to one of the above choices. I know what I'll get at Patrick's and the North End, so I'll try one of the others.

Patriot Games
1. Weirs Beach Lobster Pound (good food) I am sure 1:00 games will have sound.
2. Shooters, Belmont (good pizza) 3. North End, Moultonboro (good food) |
