Couple of things to remember
One thing to remember about surface applied waterproofing for basement walls. If you have a leak that is coming from a crack in the wall or floor, these products will not stop that leak. When applying a covering to the interior of the concrete wall you are still allowing the hydrolic pressure to attack the covering.
If you just have a sweating issue with the face of the concrete getting wet from absorbing water, you should be fine with these types of products. If you are getting condensation build up on the interior of your walls, get a large dehumidification system installed as that will solve most of your problems and then you can apply these materials to improve the appearance. If you have a crack in the floor or the wall use this product http://www.polygem.com/repair/lcr.php we use this product all the time and it works great. Follow the directions fully as it is very important to the strength of the repair. I can tell you that I have used this product on my own home to repair a crack in the basement wall that would puddle on the floor and after the Mother's Day rains a few years back it did not weep at all. |
