The 5th bridged island on Winnipesaukee?

I was on a real estate site looking for property on bridged islands and it mentioned there were 5 bridged islands on the lake. I can only think of four:

Governors
Long
Black Cat
Worcester

Which one did I miss?

I think Six

Actually there are six... Add Christmas and Oak island.

Thanks, I keep forgetting about Christmas Island. I guess I don't really consider it an island at all since it's so built up. I'll look at Oak Island on the chart.

Just to clarify, when I talk about a bridged island I'm talking about one in which a vehicle can drive to, not just a footbridge so the real estate site probably meant Christmas Island as the 5th.

Airwaves;

I am 99% sure that Oak Island is "bridged" for vehicles. Though I think there may only be one or two homes on the island.

Ishoot I believe you are right. The internet maps show a bridge that a vehicle can deal with...the prices on that Island are interesting as well!!!

Air, Christmas Island Bridge is not that noticeable from the Lake. Very short, and if you swim under it you would want to remove your snorkel tube for extra clearance. :)

Just to the right here in the background in one of my photos, Christmas Island on the left.

Hope this helps.

Technically Suissevales bridge can be driven on and is all the time by vehicles needing to service the beach. All summer long it's constantly driven over to pump out the porta-potties.

There are 3 houses on Oak Island and a single wide bridge to get to them.

"Almost" bridged...

Half mile Island in Center Harbor has an incomplete stone bridge. It looks like it had a wooden center span years (bofore my time) ago. My stepfather, who liked his privacy often said that he would like a place on the island and install a draw bridge. If he was not in the mood for company he would simply open the bridge!

I expect that permits would be difficult today in our nanny sate.

Misty Blue.
