The 5th bridged island on Winnipesaukee?
I was on a real estate site looking for property on bridged islands and it mentioned there were 5 bridged islands on the lake. I can only think of four:
Governors Long Black Cat Worcester Which one did I miss? |

Thanks, I keep forgetting about Christmas Island. I guess I don't really consider it an island at all since it's so built up. I'll look at Oak Island on the chart.
Just to clarify, when I talk about a bridged island I'm talking about one in which a vehicle can drive to, not just a footbridge so the real estate site probably meant Christmas Island as the 5th. |
Airwaves;
I am 99% sure that Oak Island is "bridged" for vehicles. Though I think there may only be one or two homes on the island. Dan |
Ishoot I believe you are right. The internet maps show a bridge that a vehicle can deal with...the prices on that Island are interesting as well!!!

"Almost" bridged...
Half mile Island in Center Harbor has an incomplete stone bridge. It looks like it had a wooden center span years (bofore my time) ago. My stepfather,who liked his privacy often said that he would like a place on the island and install a draw bridge. If he was not in the mood for company he would simply open the bridge!
I expect that permits would be difficult today in our nanny sate. Misty Blue. |
