Lake trout
http://www.winnipesaukee.com/photopo...6/L1010060.JPG At first I thought this was a Laker, but the more I look at the snout I'm not sure. Any help on ID?

It looks like a Chain Pickerel.

Nice fish!
That's a real "Honker"! Was your grandson with you when you caught it?

sorry to say that no he was not there that day but they ( twin brothers)
go out on the ice allot with me and here they are with their first brook trout through the ice and it was their first time being on the ice too!!! |
surely a pickerel....
They twist and turn when hooked, pretty good fight, good to eat, but not nearly as tasty as a trout.....just my opinions.

Thanks for setting me straight. It was released to grow for someone else.

10-46
Year later, same bay another chain pickerel. Only two (of these) I've caught in 13 years. 2010 was my first year without catching a salmon. Are they getting smarter and the pickerel dumber?
