Townsend's Grocery to close after 1st of the year?
 

Heard this rumor recently. Wouldn't be surprised. They have not had gas for quite awhile. It's a shame. Bad timing I suppose.

Where is this business located?

Went by there a week ago and the Pumps were working.

It is the old Emporium in Moultonboro Center.

Ok That is what I was thinking, but I wanted to make sure.
I would think that this would be a good location, especially if prices could
be kept reasonable.....

Really? I think the no gas signs are still taped to the pumps.

Sad I wonder why they couldn't make it there. I wonder if the town was over taxing them as usual. Priced them out. I wanted to buy it before the store went in there. I wanted the garages out back.

I'd be rather surprised if Joe decided to close up shop. After all the bills and issues last year that almost forced him to close, I'd say if he made it through that - he can make it through anything!

For those who do not know - the utilities in the building are EXTREMELY high -especiallly the electricity.

I'll have to keep my ears and eyes open!

The Moultonborough Emporium is now Townsend's Hometown Grocery. I put it to the likes of Skelley's though - convenience store, gas station, deli type items.

But only to illuminate the "Townsend's grocery " sign ..no gas for 3 weeks and no diesel for 4 or more weeks

A week or so ago the pumps were not working. The lights are on at the pumps but only to illuminate the "Townsend's grocery " sign ..no gas for 3 weeks and no diesel for 4 or more weeks. I wish him well but I know what kind of liens he has now and it is killing him ..No heat in there today.
Doesn't look good !
