Seasoned Firewood/ Camp wood
Anyone know where I might be able to get some seasoned wood at this time of year? We don't heat with wood and mainly just use it for convenience fires in the spring and fall and in the firepit, so it doesn't need to be all hardwood. I am interested in dry wood though because I let my pile get too low and will run out this summer, so I was looking for something I could burn by late summer/ early fall. I checked prior threads and have called Miracle Farms (they only have green) and A Cut Above (no firewood at this time). Any other sources you would suggest I check?

We bought from the guy across from the Meredith Town dump, um transfer station. Burned very well, but then again we have a wood stove and once that puppy is hot, it'll burn stones!

Thanks all for the quick responses. Between the notes above and a separate PM, I have a couple good leads. Should be all set for now. Thanks again.

Heck, I'm working on a [ Saw Dust Injector ] for wood stoves and fire pits these days. :) :) I've been using apple, cherry, hickory, peach, orange and pecan chips on the BBQ to enhance the flavor of my recipe's since years. :liplick: Makes a Big different! :) Just remember, cook it slow... Turns up much better! Happy Memorial Day to all!... Lets get this Party Started! Terry _______________________________ |

Everyone knows the more you buy, the cheaper it is but if you only want a small amount you should go to Lowe's or Home Depot (or similiar) and buy studs or strap. Cutting those up is usually cheaper than those bundles you get from the grocery store. If they have a "banana bin" you can get an even better deal. This wood is bug and dirt free too.
Good luck! |
