I usually head out and around Governors Island myself. I get back around the time you leave so if you see me out there wave me over. My boat is a red Current Design Extreme. At 19' it's hard to miss.

Sounds good hopefully you can make it. You have a perfect kayak for the trips I like to take. I may be up for a road trip at some point but currently I don't have means to transport my boat.
