entertainment
When I lived in Middleboro MA, we would ocasionally go over to Plymouth on Sunday afternoon with lawn chairs, and watch the circus, as people pulled their boats out at the public ramp. Apparently it...

oops
I remember once slaloming up to the dock (with an audience) a bit too quickly. I drew the ski nearly vertical and hit the dock (fortunately gently) with the bottom of the ski, cushioning the blow...

The Ride
Yes, I too rode up from Southern MA in a 66 Ford wagon with the rear deck laid flat so that I could sleep, thus making me a human missile if anything were to happen. Now my kids complain about who is...

towables
Back in the day, we were not fortunate enough to have engineered towables to play with, so in our infinite wisdom, we designed our own. Those ranged from cabinet doors tied to the boat (don't dip the...

Observations
I have just returned from my week of bliss at the lake. It was hard enough leaving, but we got to return after making it to Bay due to a forgotten toy. It was just as hard leaving the second time. ...

Brave
I would think the boaters must be fairly brave (or foolish) to operate in an area so close to shore, and obviously prone to swimmers.

Oak stuff
We used to get that on a white car that we owned. It was from the oak trees in the yard, and the only thing that we could find to remove it was Lestoil. The hard part will be keeping the Lestoil out...

I agree. Remember when you got into your car and that time was yours? What's the first thing that we do when we get into the car now?? Make those calls. Now more than ever we need that time to...

Coincidence
Although I am not familiar with that outdrive, it seems more than coincidental that TWO aspects that come from it are not functioning. Is there a possibility that they share the same wiring harness...

Debris
As a boater, I would be as concerned about the high water as property owners. The high lake level tends to generate hull cracking debris that is not normally present. I personally would rather thump...

HiLiner
We've got a 1970 HiLiner 222, but it's plastic. Easier to deal with, but not the same feel as wood on the water. As I had heard it, ours was originally bought when the company, in the Manchester...

Speed
Someone once told me that almost every accident is due to speed:
In this case, if he was drinking, he SHOULD have been going 0 MPH.
Anything more than that is (and proved to be) unsafe.
Just...

I think that I have said this before:
What is the ratio of ALCOHOL related mishaps to SPEED related ones?
Common sense (what's that??) should rule the speed limit.
BTW my old boat probably only...

I would THINK that as long as they got the water levels down before ICE OUT, the damage would be kept minimal. They should be able to run off more water even after some ice has set in. The down side...

Focus
Obvoiusly another case of innattention out on the water. As stated above, a stationary pontoon boat is a noticable object. I suppose it's a good thing that the boat was hit, and not the tubers.
