The heros and citizens of that day should never be forgotten and I agree with SIKSUKR on tribute and memorial items going to the wrong people.

Having an oportunity to talk with a good friend of my BIL at a family gathering a few years ago put another view of this day in my mind. He is a fighter pilot flying out of Otis AFB, and for those that do not know they were deployed on that morning to defend the skies over New York City from any additional aircraft entering the airspace after the FAA ordered all aircraft to the ground, with the possibility that the order could come at any moment to take down a civilian aircraft over US soil.

The job that our service men and women do to protect our freedoms in a job that carries more weight than most of us will ever know. It is our duty to thank these folks for their sacrifice everyday.
