Yikes, that's practially a desecration
Probably some federal requirement like "cash for clunkers", where the engine has to be destroyed - or something similar. There's a lot of history there. One would think some "antiquity group" could preserve the engines with the promise to never use them except for demonstration purposes.....but of course I forget - common sense in government (the grant suggests the government is involved) is an oxymoron
