I am not a meteorologist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night...

If the air temps were staying above normal, I might agree with you. However, I don't think that is going to be the case this year. It looks to be pretty cold (normal or below) for at least the next week. The cold pattern could relax between Christmas and 1/15 or so, but after that we are going to go right back into the cold pattern.
