In years past (1969-1974).. I have sailed across 3" of black ice on the Broads east of Rattlesnake on a DN Iceboat. EXCELLENT. 60 MPH or better...under SAIL. Did a LOT of Ice Boating in those years. On Winni...Usually in the spring when the snow settles and freezes at night. ...right up to Ice Out.
