As usual, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on this and if everyone wants the Thanks or even the Groan buttons I'll probably take the advice of you members.
Sorry I jumped the gun by posing this question before you were ready. As usual, your insight is excellent. Thank you.

I have not noticed that the Thanks button has cluttered up the threads.
Now that you have pointed this out, I may change my mind.

Is it possible that someone who might not be inclined to respond to a topic might use the button instead?
Some people appear to be shy when it comes to posting. (Apparently a foreign thing to me. )

In my opinion, it has been nice to see when other members of the Forum like someone’s comment. It may be cutting down on the number of posts in thread, which could translate to less clutter over all. Another benefit is that it might keep those dead horses in hot threads from being beaten so badly.

Occasionally there have been posts that a groan button would be appropriate for, but as you pointed out, it doesn't seem to fit with our "friendly and helpful" guideline.
I wholeheartedly agree. No Groan button please!

I still like the Thanks button a lot and would like try it everywhere on the Forum. Perhaps a trial period where we can a re-evaluate the Thanks after a certain amount of time?

Majority should rule, so let's see what our other Forum friends think.

Thanks for discussing this issue.
