Your OS and/or your browser also tend to cache DNS info.
DNS server information is also "passed" out with IP address info when your PC/Mac gets on the network and requests an IP from the router. THAT info also has an expiration time in it.
Depending on exactly how you configured things one or more various caches, expiration limits, or network config settings may or may not have timed out or reset as expected.
