There aren't many of those left around here, not with all the beauty salons doing it now. If someone wants to spend the money to get into the hair care business, they want to do everything, not just haircuts. I know if I started any kind of business, I would want to make my horizons as broad as I could. If I opened a barber shop, I would want to do styling and everything, because I would make more money. If I want to be in the business, I wouldn't want to just limit myself to haircuts. However, I don't like the outrageous prices the salons charge for just a haircut, but it's because it costs tens of thousands to go to a place like Empire to learn how do it, plus once you're in the business, the overhead is high. The styling products and shampoos they use are expensive, plus the rental of the booth, etc.

I know all this because a friend of mine, she runs a hair salon and she has to have another stylist in the shop to split the expenses with, because it's so expensive for the rent of the space, the supplies, heat, electric, hot water, etc.
