We traveled north on RT 11 from Alton Bay to the Laconia By-pass between 11:30 and 1:00 PM. Basically everything was iced in, with some little breaks and rivers. By the time we got back to MA just after 4:30, the world had changed. DRH posted a few pictures showing that the lake was on the move and the ice bergs were flowing and breaking up. The broads, as reported by DBA on Rattlesnake, was 70% free. Snake Eyes showed a tiny iceberg, but mostly open water where it was all ice this morning. Any rain and wind ought to finish the job!
I was going to post a pic or two, but it is irrelevant now... the world changed from the time I took them until the time I got back to a computer!! I love mother nature.
