I have a Volvo-Penta, the impeller is on the engine. I purchased the boat (from another marina) 10 months ago and since the boat was a few years old I requested as part of the purchase and sales agreement that the impeller (among other things) was to be replaced. It seems it probably was not. Fortunately I shut it down just before it hit 180 degrees. It makes me wonder how many other things on the list were actually taken care of.
