There are parks in Laconia: Opeeche and downtown Rotary Park, or the boardwalk at Weirs Beach on a weekday. There is a Park /dock opposite the Museum in Tamworth or Melvin Village on way to Wolfeboro from Center Harbor.

If they are skiers, go to summit of Gunstock in summer or fall, on the chairlift, with a justice of peace and try Hawkins for Photography.
There are parks & public lands in Moultonboro, like Lee's Mills, at end of dead end road, and not crowded or busy with "tourists".
