Size does matter. Will this be an introductory boat that you will trade in a year or two? Are you expecting this to be your boat for the next 10 years? In my experience, new boaters almost always wish they bought a slightly bigger boat with more engine hp. If you plan to keep this boat awhile remember that the kids grow fast. You or the kids will want to bring friends along. Your boat will seem to shrink yearly and you will have more trouble getting on plane.
If you are going to keep the boat awhile my suggestion is to decide on what you want then add a few feet and buy the bigger model of the boat. Lots of boaters though have great fun on Winnie with the size boat you are considering.
