Thought I might add something here!
I was going to transport a 100 lbs. tank from my place to have it filled and return back home.
I was told that these tanks should be transported in the stand up position.
There is a rubber seal or gasket in the valve area and if the liquid gas makes contact with this seal or gasket it will deteriate the rubber part and cause the tank to leak! That is why the gas trucks carry them upright and secured to the bed of the truck.
This is what I was told, by the gas company.
I'm not sure if this is true but it would be a good question to ask someone who knows his stuff!
