Think the current thought is that fat is bad for arteries. There are good fats such as those found in walnuts, almonds, wild Alaskan salmon, maybe even occasional dark chocolate, etc.
I recall reading a study that had been done for a long period of years and it showed that the best indicators for early death were eating red meat and eating processed foods.
