Winter Festival was held today at Alton Bay and of course the AANH's flyin was sorely missed. Still had a good crowd in spite of the coolish temps and the wind. Kids seemed to have a good time, especially with the ice bowling and hopefully with the "cro puckey" (kinda a mix of croquet (the mallet) and hockey (the puck) with a course thrown in for good measure (kinda like croquet and golf together) with the latter sponsored by the Alton New Durham Lions (thanks guys). Scavenger hunt was also held and of course the Great Alton Bay Bed race on the ice was held with the Alton Bay Campground group winning for the third year in a row (some claimed Devine Intervention fouls, but the appeal was turned down -- after all, we were over 20 feet of water under the ice, and no need to get anyone upset

).
Had the pleasure of seeing DRH and his wife (finally met him - we live in the same town!), Island Girl, and Island Sib. Missed connections with McDude and Rattlesnake Gal who were supposed to be there. Don't know who else I missed from the forum. Perhaps next year we can have a meeting place and time where we can all try to meet.
Radar runs were being held by Mt Major Snowmobile club, but don't know how well they did. Probably have to check the website to info in the next few days or so.
Thanks to all who were there. Don't forget the AANH is going to try to get their flyin done next Saturday... check their website
www.aanh.org for further info. Possible snow on Monday may help them out!!!!
Added: DRH, I thought you said you missed McDude...Isn't that him all bundled up with the goggles on???????
